Social Media Manager

The essence of this role:

The purpose of the Social Media Manager is to own strategy, execution, reporting and community management across Kathmandu’s organic social media channels. The role will support in defining the strategy across their social media channels, in terms of their position in the channel mix. You will create a clear content for each channel and ensure best practise, to build reach, follower growth and increase engagement. The role will also oversee community management and copywriting across their social media channels, internal/external stakeholder management and reporting on their organic social media performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Your key working relationships will include CCO, marketing team, creative agency, social media agency, internal customer service team, PR, corporate comms and media agency
  • Content strategy and execution (including posting) across organic social media channels for brand campaigns and social specific campaigns
  • Overseeing the work of the social media agency / internal teams for the creation of social media content
  • Ensuring alignment within the business across social media
  • Oversight and responding to community management requests where needed
  • Social media reporting to the wider business.

A bit about you:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant work experience
  • Experience in social media at an agency or client side
  • Creative brief writing, project management and delivery
  • Strong understanding of social media channels and advertising platforms
  • Experience with community management and online crisis communication
  • A passion for all things digital: web, social, mobile, technology & video
  • A strong understanding of the retail and online shopping environment
  • Proven experience in developing and working with digital design and brand guidelines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in content creation via digital tools e.g. PhotoShop
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and website usage
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a strong copywriter
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies and plans.
